Nelson Hawk, Chairman Emeritus retired from EnerVision February 1, 2015 after spending 42 years in the electric utility arena. Nelson was one of the founding owners of EnerVision, which was established in 1998.
Nelson started his 16 years with EnerVision as President/CEO where he went on to become Chairman Emeritus during his EnerVision career. Nelson was instrumental in the development and implementation of green power/renewable resource programs for electric utilities. He represented these electric utilities with various environmental and political organizations to gain endorsement and cooperation with green power initiatives. He also led EnerVision in providing technical skills to identify, evaluate, and negotiate power purchase agreements and provide interconnection services for renewable energy projects.
Prior to EnerVision, Nelson was Senior Vice President of Marketing for Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC) and spent 24 years with Florida Power & Light (FPL) where he led efforts to create and implement an energy services subsidiary of FPL’s holding company.
